We’re honored to be shortlisted for a Mobile Entertainment Award this year. Up against Shazam, Flowd, SoundHound, Omnifone, and our partner and last year’s winner Spotify, we’re nominated for the Best Music Service Provider Award under the Services category. In total, there are 18 awards, ranging from Best Gambling Company to Best Games Company, Best App Store to Best Handset Company, and everything in between.
There’s also the Outstanding Contribution to Mobile Content award listed under the Special Award category, recognizing thought-leaders in the mobile world. Past recipients of this prestigious award include AdMob‘s Omar Hamoui (2010), Neeraj Roy (2009) CEO of Hungama, India’s largest mobile content company, Anssi Vanjoki (2008), mobile founder Ralph Simon (2007), and Bango‘s Ray Anderson (2006).
According to Mobile Entertainment (ME), finalists were chosen from hundreds of submissions. Each entrant was required to write a short pitch about their successes and accomplishments in the mobile sphere, and out of the hundreds of submissions, the list was narrowed down to less than a hundred nominees including mobile giants Apple, Facebook, Vodafone, Foursquare, and Rovio. The winners for each award category will be chosen by several hundred judges from the ME contacts book, including executives from Disney, Google, Gameloft, ESPN, Ogilvy, and hundreds more, and then announced during the live show on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.
The Mobile Entertainment Awards celebrate the best of the mobile entertainment industry- congratulations to all the nominees! Good luck.
