Back in December of last year, San Diego Zoo released their official app to the joy of animal lovers across the world.

And now they’re back with the launch of the official app for the Safari Park. The Safari Park is “an expansive wildlife sanctuary that is home to more than 3,500 animals representing more than 400 species. Over half of the Park’s 1,800 acres have been set aside as protected native species habitat.”

In the app, visitors can learn about the 9 safari packages offered, use the Map on their safari journey, check out upcoming Events, and brush up on Visitor Info to plan their day. And to much fanfare, the app includes Live Cams! Now, animal lovers around the world can watch elephants play in real time.

Rethink Music 2012 is already underway at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA. Rethink Music is a collaboration between the Berklee College of Music and Midem in association with Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society and Babson College, bringing together “the strongest minds across all facets of the music industry to examine current challenges and formulate paths forward.” The event will feature creative workshops, expert panels, live performances, and competitions “designed to cultivate innovation.”

In 2001, Fortune kicked off their first ever Brainstorm event, bringing together influential leaders from Fortune 500 companies, the government, and around the world to share new ideas and set change in motion.

The 16th Annual Webby Awards announced nominees and honorees today, and we’re excited to announce that the official Adele app powered by Mobile Roadie has been chosen as an Official Honoree in the Music category of “Mobile & Apps”. Established in 1996, the Webby Awards is the “leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.”

Out of the 8,000 entries submitted from all over the world, fewer than 15% were chosen as an Official Honoree, a distinction that recognizes those who demonstrate a standard of excellence and outstanding caliber of work.

Fellow Honorees include Bjork’s Biophilia, Jimi Hendrix: The Complete Experience, KCRW’s Music Mine iPad app, Pitchfork, Songkick, Songza, and undun. Congrats! We’re honored to be part of this prestigious group. It goes to show that an app created from a self-service platform can compete with apps made from scratch.

This week we want to highlight the official Chad Smith mobile app which just came out! For those not in the know, Chad Smith is the longtime drummer of one of our other MoRo artists Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In the app, fans can watch videos and drum clinics, get the latest news, see upcoming tour dates, interact with the Chad Smith community, and more. One of the coolest features is the GPS section where fans can discover drummers who Chad draws inspiration from.
