Improved User List Search

May 15, 2013

You may or may not have used the User List area of the CMS to gain insight into your apps’ users. If you haven’t now’s the time to take a look.

Here are the things you can do:

  • Search by username (quickly pick out a troublemaker or a VIP)
  • Search by city or zip code and distance (target specific users near your next event or location)
  • Sort your results! Now you can order the list by who has the most points (top users) and who joined most recently (hi noobs!)
  • Return a limited number of results (handy for getting a quick list of top 10 users, say)
  • Target by platform (helpful for making announcements to just iPhone, Android, or iPad users, or seeing who uses what)
  • Badges won (get a list of users who’ve won a specific badge)
  • Golden Ticket won (helpful for seeing who’s won golden tickets in each of your campaigns)
  • Polls taken (generate a list of users who’ve taken a certain poll)
  • Bulk actions! Select all of the results, or hand pick using checkboxes, and then you can download a CSV file to load into the software of your choice, or send a push notification to your selections
We have even more in the works to help you get to know your users better and reach out to the ones who matter most.

Simply log in to the Mobile Roadie CMS and go to Engage > Post to Fan Wall. The Fan Wall post you make will use your app name and icon for extra official-ness.

Import Photos from your Facebook Fan Page

January 11, 2013

, , , ,

If your brand has a public Facebook fan page, you can now automatically sync those photos with your Mobile Roadie apps!

Log in to the CMS, and go to Build > Add Content > Facebook (at the bottom).
Enter the full URL for your fan page and click Connect. This must be a public fan page, not a default private profile.

We’ll start importing your Facebook photos automatically for your fans to enjoy!

Improved Image Uploaders & Croppers

We fixed up our image uploaders throughout the entire CMS, so it’s even easier for you to crop down any sized image into the correct dimensions we require to build assets for your app.

Smart App Banners

November 9, 2012

Apple has created Smart App Banners that are used in iOS 6 Safari to encourage your site’s visitors to download your app, resulting in better conversions from a more elegant popup.

We’ve given you an easy way to promote your app on your site to iOS 6 visitors by installing a code on your website.

Log in to your CMS and go to Engage > Promotional Tools to get your Smart Apps Banner. You must have an iPhone app and correct iOS Developer Account information to receive this code. Our custom created popup is still available for other apps if this doesn’t fit your needs.

Google Analytics for Mobile Web

October 22, 2012

,

If you have a Mobile Roadie provided Mobile Website, you can now add in a Google Analytics ID to track analytics on the site.

You can find this under Manage > App Vitals. You’ll need a Google Analytics account set up for this URL.

  • We’ll let you know the last time the feed was updated
  • We’ll let you know if something goes wrong with your feed so you have an opportunity to resolve it

Improved Instagram Importing

October 15, 2012

We’ve supported Instagram hashtags for awhile now — but now we’ve added account importing! By connecting an Instagram account, previous images will be imported, and every upcoming photo you post there will automatically be pulled into your app for your users to see.

To set up Instagram importing, log in to the Mobile Roadie CMS, then navigation to Build > Photos > Add Content.

Sorting Speakers

October 5, 2012

If your app has a Speakers section that you’re using to list people involved with a conference, event, or other project, we’ve given you more sorting options.

Using the Mobile Roadie CMS, go to Build, then Speakers (or add a new Speakers section). Under Appearance you can now select a sort order, either by first name alphabetically, by last name alphabetically, or manually by dragging and dropping items in the Manage Content list.

When new speakers are added, they’ll be automatically sorted in your apps according to this preference.

Sonic Notify

Customers with our Advanced Views Package have the ability to integrate Sonic Notify into their apps, allowing them to send exclusive content to app users via sound waves.

If you have this package, you can now hook up your Sonic Notify account via the Mobile Roadie CMS. Simply navigate to Manage, then Sonic Notify. You’ll be able to input your Sonic Notify GUID here, and you’re on your way!

The footer is enabled by default, but now you can turn it off. Turning off the footer won’t yet be reflected in the app preview.

Design Area Reorganization

September 26, 2012

For our customers creating and editing custom themes, we’ve made some big changes to the Design area of the CMS to make it even easier for you.

Instead of digging around to find the settings you want to adjust, there are now more options available to you in a friendlier arrangement.

  • Pick Theme/Your Theme — Pick a new template theme provided by us to use as a jumping off point, or get a quick preview of the theme you already have selected.

  • Arrange Sections — Drag and drop to reorder sections as you’d like them displayed using your home screen navigation buttons. Quickly hide sections you no longer want available in your app.
If you have our iPhone/Android product:
  • Smartphone Home Styles — Upload a header image, choose a footer color, disable the footer, or upload a home screen background image.
  • Smartphone Navigation Styles — Upload a custom button background image for all buttons or choose one of ours. Adjust color options just for navigation buttons. Pick an all new icon set for buttons. Upload a new canvas image that sits underneath navigation buttons.
  • Smartphone Interior Styles — Pick a new font and upload a new header bar or pick one of ours. These choices will be applied to every interior view of the app.
  • Smartphone Backgrounds — Upload a background image on a per-section basis.
  • Smartphone Pre-Roll Video — Available as part of our Advanced Design Package, here’s where you can upload a video to play upon launch of your app.
